Phish played a Father's Day show to end the first leg of their Summer Tour in Portsmouth, VA. I finally posted my photos. You can see the whole set here.
It was epic. My pics from Phish's incredible Festival 8 went up on Brooklynvegan a couple weeks ago. The festival was Oct 30-Nov 1 and was held in Indio, CA. They covered The Rolling Stone'sExile On Main Street beginning to end as a set on Halloween. You can check out the pics here.
Phish returns to the stage for three concerts at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia on March 6, 7 and 8, 2009. A limited number of tickets are available directly through Phish Tickets' online ticketing system at http://phish.portals.musictoday.com/ . The ticketing request period is currently underway and will end on Wednesday, October 8th at 11:59AM EST.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, October 18th at 10 AM EST and may be purchased online at http://ticketmaster.com or byphone at 757.671.8100, 757.872.8100 or 804.262.8100. Tickets will not be available at the box office and there is a two-ticket limit per show.
The band intends to announce additional touring in 2009 early next year.

...and everything I do to get the title, but when they use it on me I reject it. ("Halley's Comet")
For those of you that care, Phish will receive a lifetime achievement tomorrow night at The 2008 Jammy Awards. As you may or may not recall, they disbanded back in 2004. I was supposed to be at Coventry, the last Phish show. but due to severe rain (and the car I was in not being mine) we did not walk in once the announcement that no more cars would be allowed in the camping area came over radio at 7 am on the day of the show.
The big question for tomorrow night at The Theater at MSG: will the band reunite and perform (like Buddy Guy performing in 2006 when he received his Lifetime award). Gut says......wait for it....yes.
For some reason, I just knew this was going to happen. After taking a year off, The Jammy Awards return for its seventh time this May 7th (that's a lot of sevens) at The MSG Theater. Up for the Lifetime Achievement Award is none other than a very near-and-dear to my heart band, Phish. This one is for you:
Grace Potter and Warren Haynes will share the hosting duties. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing what musical matches Peter Shapiro, Relix, and Jambands.com put together to perform during the show. Tix went on sale yesterday.
