The Morning Benders - Housing Works, NY, NY 02.25.2010
The Morning Benders played a show at the end of February at Housing Works here in the city. A few of my photos from that show went up on Brooklyn Vegan, you can see them here.
The Bird & The Bee + John Oates - The El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles, CA March 5, 2010
The Bird & The Bee just released an entire album of Hall & Oates covers. Yes, they did it on their own volition. Earlier in March they performed a one-off show in their hometown of Los Angeles to celebrate the release. John Oates sans mustache but plus soul patch joined them towards the end of the set for a couple H&O classics. It was a classic moment. Um, yes. You can see my photos on Brooklynvegan.com here.

For the third year running I have been able to make it to lovely Austin for SXSW Music Festival. Spent the first night at Club De Ville for the Brooklyn Vegan official showcase. Gotta say, the first band I saw completely caught me off guard in such a great way. Dawes were so good, it was my first set seen but quite possibly the best one I saw all week.
